Asa Bishop
Asa Bishop was born on the 25th of Dec, 1846. He enlisted on May 26th 1862 at Jacksonville, now Floyd County Va.
He was also in company E. He was permantly disabled from a leg wound at Chicamauga.
Absent sick 11/23/63 ,furloughed for 40 days on 12/22/63. In Montgomery White Sulphur Springs Hospital, on 9/30/64.
Resident of Christianburg, Montgomery County.
Born 1813 Died 1889, buried in the Jacksonville cemetery Floyd, County Va.
He also lost his right eye from smallpox contacted in 1864.

Jim's great-grandfather was George Obediah Bishop, but it seems that he was know as Obediah only in most references.
He was born on April 10, 1826, in Montgomery County Va. Jim's references says that Obediah entered the 11th Va. Infantry in company F on the 10th of March, 1862.
His brothers Asa, Samuel, and Noah served in the 54th Va.
